The following article by Rose Marie Berger, "Why Bill McKibben is the new Noah," was posted on Pax Christi on August 12, 2012.
Sometimes the big issues like global warming seem overwhelming and there is a temptation to do nothing in the face of such huge odds. Berger talks about McKibben's recent article in Rolling Stone magazine on global warming and describes what she liked best about the article: McKibben's 3-pronged strategy for doing something about climate change while there's still time.
The choice is clear: we can choose to be part of the "arc-building" project to save the planet or we can choose, by default, to be overwhelmed and thus to be part of the demise of the planet.
