Thanks to Tessa Cornally
What an excellent speech... Emma Watson's moving speech about gender equality and the he for she campaign. To join heforshe: http://www.heforshe.org/

  1. I specifically love this article because its gender equality/feministic content; it relates back to Session 2: Reading 2 of Engage, “That’s How I Like To See a Woman” by Sue Monk Kid.
I am a huge proponent for feminism and gender equality. I believe women deserve better thn being told “That’s how I like to see a woman,” when kneeling or at work. Women are just as capable as men are when it comes to the workplace, relationships, and family. “I want men to take up this mantle so that their daughters, sisters, and mothers can be free from prejudice. But also so their sons have permission to be vulnerable and human, too.” (Watson, 10:17-10:25 in the video) I love this quote especially because it doesn’t just support women, but it supports men, as well. And I love the aspect of EQUAL rights. Feminism isn’t the attack on men, but the support of women. Men do not understand that when they degrade a female, they are also degrading themselves in a way. And human worth is so important. We must never forget our worth as individuals.
