As the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the
Incarnate Word we committed to a CORPORATE ACTION for the earth in September
2016. This action challenged us to make sure that at least 50% of all materials
used and consumed in our meetings and events are environmentally friendly. From then up to the present we have tried to
promote local initiatives, strengthen what is already being done through our various
networks and ministry partners, and also share what our ministries are doing
through the monthly article 'Living Laudato Si' found in Seeds.
This work can be challenging because changing our habits and
common practices requires more time and intentionality. Many have captured the spirit of creativity in
working towards sustainable events, but we all still have a long way to go to
be better stewards of our common home.
For this reason, we believe offering a free Virtual
Conference (webinar) for our sisters and collaborators regarding 'Sustainable
Events' will help us to continue learning and improving.
To participate in the webinar on sustainable events you need
to register to receive the link. Please send your full name and ministry/position
within the Congregation to our e-mail: jpic.office@amormeus.org.
Upon receiving your registration information, we will send you
a confirmation email and the link so you can connect from your computer or
other electronic device (it is important to have a computer or laptop with
sound).
We hope you will also help us share this information and
invite anyone who works with our Congregation and assists with meeting/event
logistics in any way through the various institutions, organizations,
departments, and groups. Thank you!
