LAUDATO SI WORKSHOPS

Four local gatherings have been realized (St. Louis, Lima, Monterrey and Mexico D.F.) so far throughout the Congregation in order to reflect on the ‘urgent challenge of protecting our common home which includes the concern of uniting the whole human family in the search for sustainable development because we know that things can change,’ as stated by Pope Francis in his encyclical Laudato Si.  These gatherings were developed by the Congregational JPIC Office with the support of members of the International JPIC Committee, the GLT, and those responsible from the participating ministries in sharing the information and helping to coordinate space where these events were held.

It is also worth mentioning that the Community Conversations created and sponsored by our JPIC Office, are also being facilitated by us (Sr. Katty and Jennifer).  The fundamental goal is conversations in small groups reflecting on the encyclical Laudato Si in the light of our incarnational spirituality.  We will continue to hold conversations in San Angel (Mexico), Guadalajara (Mexcio), Chimbote (Peru), and San Antonio (USA) throughout the months of January and February.  We will also be creating an audiovisual guide to assist our communities in Ireland and Zambia in joining in the conversation and reflection as well, to strengthen this area of our mission.

PRAYER:  Pope Francis from his “Christian prayer in union with creation”. God of love, show us our place in this world as channels of your love for all the creatures of this earth, for not one of them is forgotten in your sight. Enlighten those who possess power and money that they may avoid the sin of indifference, that they may love the common good, advance the weak, and care for this world in which we live.  Amen.
