Our prayers are with the families of the victims
of the shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio. We stand together as sisters
and brothers in the global family. We reject all forms of violence and we
commit ourselves to continue collaborating in building gospel nonviolence so
that peace prevails.
We refuse to diminish the humanity of others with
racist words or hate speech and invite all to do this.
We pray that sensible policies are developed in
regard to both small and large weapons in the world. We commit ourselves to the
analysis of the systems building and trading in weapons that further death
rather than life in the world.
