A public stance of the churches for peace with justice and dignity

Thanks to Maru Noguez for this article by Fr. Raul Lugo.  The article refers to an ecumenical faith-based position with respect to all the violence in Mexico and a special request that on September 21, World Day of Prayer for Peace,  people fast and pray for Mexico.

Christian denominations and Christian-based institutions met in the church of El Altillo, with members of the Movement for Peace with Justice and Dignity for open dialogue and ecumenical on the main challenges that the context of violence and insecurity makes the churches and people of faith, and the urgency of promoting non-violent ways of civil resistance on a national stage marked by pain and national disaster.

As a gesture of solidarity and Christian witness, the present and pledged to undertake a series of joint actions of peaceful civil resistance in faith and to sign a public position that reflects this commitment to Mexican society.
