Thank IL Leaders for Death Penalty Abolition

In 1998, the then U.S. Province of the Congregation, took a Corporate Stance against the death penalty, and in the years since then various sisters have been involved in efforts to end the death penalty, especially in TX.

Although TX still has the death penalty, Illinois just became the 16th State to repeal capital punishment.    Amnesty International is encouraging people to sign a letter thanking IL leaders Gov. Pat Quinn, Rep. Karen Yarbrough and Senator Kwame Raoul for their leadership in this regard.
